The First Chapter:
About ten days ago I got up, as I usually do @ 6:30 a.m., to go to work. As I went out to get my morning coffee I looked out our Lanai only to see two white figures on the water across the lake. As I looked intently, it appeared that I was looking at two beautiful white swans. In their slow methodical movements I found them to be both to be exciting and graceful. I ran to our bedroom to wake my wife and in doing so said 'Honey come quick you have to see this'. When she came out moments later, I pointed to her the two beautiful objects across the lake and said--What do you think about that?--She looked at me and said
where have you been, there decoys, they have been out there about a week. I was stunned as she quickly turned to go back to bed. Boy, what was I thinking.
Chapter Two:
Today, Sunday, 11-15-09, I arose again about 6:30 a.m. and went to the kitchen to get my coffee. In looking out the lanai across the lake I saw additional white figures on the water in the middle of the lake. I said to myself, how did they get other decoys out that far. In taking just a second I saw movement in other directions and said OMG their real. I ran to the bedroom again and yelled to my wife. She said what's the matter? I said you have to come and see this--there's swans. She replied Yea Right. Really I said, you have to come out.
We both watched the real birds this morning in awe. We were amazed in what we were looking at. We had never seen real swans down here in our lake before and really no where around here at all. I took photographs until they went airborne. The pictures tell the story--please enjoy.
Thank you Jake for bringing more beauty to an already beautiful and peaceful place to live.
